WICENWA- Activating the Dementia Australia # MWJ Sign, Yesterday at Burswood Park on the southern shore of Perth’s Swan River, for the 2025 Perth Memory Walk & Jog.
Thanks to WICEN NSW for their equipment – the repeater and the 20 handhelds. The event was run… well run and jogged and walked, by several hundred Perth Locals and the DA organisation team. It was great to be out and be of service to our community.
(All three WICEN members pictured here, also happen to now hold King’s Scout Rank, each having been awarded in our time the Queen’s Scout Award. – I should note this is not a requirement for active participation as a member of WICEN WA, lolz.)
We continue to work on rebuilding the next generation of WICEN in WA. The passing last year of Jim Preston VK6JP(SK) was a great loss and growing the next generation will take time. – Great to have an opportunity to put boots on the ground, so to speak.
Organisers on the day praised the Radios and the reach of the repeater as absolutely brilliant, working without a hitch, and they were very thankful for WICENs participation.
